There have been several acts of solidarity that I wish to recognize because they are f-ing awesome!!!
First, my hubby, Todd, not only surprised me with a buzz cut the day after I had my head shaved, he also went for a big fat purple “J” tat on his left deltoid!!!
Guy Kornblum, Kilimanjaro and Everest climbing partner, fellow SAS F’02 shipmate, and all around bff, also shaved his head in solidarity!
Brendan Geck, fellow SAS S’09 shipmate, decided to shave his head in front of all of our friends on the Jan. 2013 SAS Reunion Voyage. He did it oh so appropriately on the Miller Court of the 7 Seas!
I want to thank you all for your kick ass support of me and my battle!!! Sorry if I missed anyone!
I had my 2 of my favorite nurses at City of Hope come into my bubble for a sunrise shearing on about the 4th day after my chemo finished, because my hair was coming out by the fistful. I couldn’t resist the urge to go with a mohawk, so I could feel kinda bad ass, just for a little while. Maybe it was the fact that I had hit the morphine button a few too many times that morning… It was the first mohawk they had done on a patient, and they wanted their work documented, so, here I am with my PIAB – Prednisone is a Bitch chipmunk face and mohawk, thanks to Sara and Roberta 🙂
I know the curiosity of my present hair sitch is killing some of you, so here I am in all my egghead glory – I don’t give a sh*t anymore.
I probably won’t see any growth for a few more months… Until then, I’m rocking my beanie collection 🙂
You Look BEAUTIFUL! xo

I have just come across your blog and wanted to let you know your not alone. I got EF in 1995 and went through the ringer myself. Let me know if your interested in hearing about a fellow EFr’s battle….hopefully I could be of some help to you. I’ll just tell you now, your great attitude is phenomenal to see, and it will help you immensely!
