Snaps from the Magical Night of Pre-Transplant Caroling

I finally got my ass in gear and brought together the pics that were so generously sent to me from Craig Fisher and Barbara Higgins from that amazing evening of surprise caroling in front of my house!  Thanks again to those angels who organized it and to those wonderful peeps who came from far and near to give me such a wonderful send off – I think there were about 200 of you – it really touched me and gave me strength!  Thanks again Craig and Barb!

UPDATE:  My dad received great news from his doctor at his follow up appointment – all is good!

Today is Day 63 post transplant, and Dr. F is pleased with my blood counts staying steady with no signs of Graft vs. Host Disease (where my body would reject Leason’s marrow).  He’s hinting at lowering some of my medication doses and possibly going from 2 appointments a week down to one.  Yip freaking eeeeeeeee!

I am a survivor of two extremely rare diseases, thanks to over 100 blood transfusions and ultimately, a bone marrow transplant. My blog, joselynsbrawl.com, chronicles my adventures through medical offices, operating rooms, clinics, transfusion centers, hospital transplant floors, victory celebrations, and finally my bucket list items – all with a humorous and sometimes profane twist. My goal is to inspire others not to give up on life or anything else, and to understand that it’s actually possible to enjoy any experience, even battling a life-threatening illness (or two).

  4. I’m soooo glad you FINALLY got your ass in gear! How long do we have to wait to see photos of ourselves (of which I was not in ONE, by the way!)? You act as if you’ve been busy…I mean, I haven’t managed to get around to paying my dry cleaning bill, but I’ve got a lot going on! Granted, you’ve got a few aches and pains, a doctor’s appointment every now and then, maybe a few other things here and there, but come on! How long can you milk those excuses? I know I speak for all when I say I’m relieved to see that you’ve shaken off the doldrums and gotten your act together. Maybe now we can focus on some important things…(;

    Stay well…Cleo said she saw you. It was better than any celebrity sighting. xo

    p.s. WHEN you are ready, your mom and I talked that it might be fun to paint or sketch together…….NO “aim” OR, if you want, I will think of a fun simple set up!……….just feeling the paint move around or the pencil on the paper…….its just yummy…..tactile escape! You just say the word and I will be over with basket of all necessary supplies. OR if this sounds dreadful………..use that belly laugh and call me poop!!! 🙂
